Be a CU-Boulder Student for a Day

The Be a CU-Boulder Student for a Day program provides you and your family the chance to explore campus and the many opportunities you will have as a student. We invite you to sit in on a sample lecture, take a walking tour of CU-Boulder, attend a panel discussion with current students, view a residence hall room, eat lunch on campus, and meet with various campus leaders and representatives. 

Be a CU-Boulder Student for a Day programs are held throughout the year and are intended for all prospective, undergraduate students and their families. 

The cost for this all-day program is $20 per person payable by cash or check at check-in. This fee covers parking, light refreshments in the morning, and an all-you-care-to-eat lunch in one of our campus dining halls.

Step 1: Choose a Visit Date

The Be a CU-Boulder Student for a Day programs are typically held on Fridays throughout the fall and spring semesters. This is a full-day program that begins at 8:30 a.m. and offers activities until 5:00 p.m. Please review the dates, as well as a tentative agenda below before making your reservation:

As you plan your visit, we also encourage you to view CU-Boulder’s calendar of events. CU-Boulder's campus can be very busy; we host a number of athletic events, performing arts programs, concerts, and more.

Step 2: Make Your Reservation

In order to provide a positive experience for every guest, we ask that you register for an event two weeks prior to visiting campus. Walk-in space is not guaranteed. You must register for an event to ensure your space.

  • To register for an event, students must log in to their MyCUBoulder account. After you have logged in, click the ‘Visit CU’ tab, then click on ‘Register for an Event’
  • If you have not created a MyCUBoulder account, click here to get started.
  • Family members should call the Office of Admissions at 303-492-6301 for assistance with scheduling a visit.

Following registration, an e-mail confirmation will be sent to the student’s e-mail address with more information about where to park, location, and directions. You may also download a copy of your visit guide.

Please note: payment cannot be accepted online at this time; instead, please bring your payment to the program in the form of cash, or check.

Step 3: Plan your Visit

The University of Colorado Boulder is located in sunny Boulder, Colorado -  30 miles northwest of Denver.  The Boulder area offers a wide array of activity ranging from hiking and biking to shopping, amazing dining, and entertainment.  We hope you are able to explore the community of Boulder while you are visiting campus.

Step 4: Day of Your Visit

Please plan to arrive on campus at the University Memorial Center (UMC) between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. to check-in and enjoy light breakfast refreshments.  Give yourself adequate time to find the session location and parking. We recommend avoiding it or finding alternative routes. For complete directions and parking information, please download your visit guide.

Please note: There is currently construction on Broadway Street, which may cause delays.

During your time on campus, take advantage of the informational sessions from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.  You will have the chance to attend classes, learn more about academic majors, discover academic enrichment programs and student resources, as well as explore the CU-Boulder community.

After your Be a CU-Boulder Student for a Day experience, if you have additional questions, please feel free to drop-by the Office of Admissions or Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services. Both are located in the Regent Administrative Center.
