Guaranteed Admission Criteria for Colorado Freshmen
The University of Colorado Boulder guarantees admission to Colorado resident first-time freshmen who:
- Graduate from high school by July of the year to which they are applying for admission
- Complete the Minimum Academic Preparation Standards (MAPS)
- Meet or exceed the required high school rank in class, or grade point average, and test scores
- Maintain consistent or improving grades and high quality of courses (students who fail to do so jeopardize their chances of admission even if the guarantee requirements have been met)
- Maintain a grade point average of at least a 2.00 for any college courses taken during high school
- Submit personal essays
To apply for guaranteed admission, submit an online application and all supporting credentials by the application deadline.

SAT total includes critical reading and mathematics scores only. The ACT will be accepted with or without the writing test.
